Talking to an agent
I do not want to talk to a salesperson. What are my options?
That is a reasonable preference. You can compare plans on your own, ask for information to read first, or call only to ask one question. You do not have to be sold anything.
Your options
- Compare plans online on your own, then call only if you want a second opinion.
- Call with one specific question and say that is all you need.
- Ask for plan details in writing before deciding.
- Bring a friend or relative to the call.
When talking helps
Some things are hard to check alone, such as whether your doctor accepts a plan or how your medicines are covered. A short call can answer that, and you can still decide on your own.
Have this ready when you call
- Your one question
- The plan name you are looking at, if any
Common questions
Can I just ask a question?
Yes. You are welcome to ask a question and leave it there.
Do agents get paid for answering questions?
Agents are paid when someone enrolls. Questions alone do not pay, which is why it helps to be direct about what you want.
