Medicare plans in Chicago, IL: open enrollment guide

Medicare's open enrollment runs October 15 to December 7. What matters for Chicago: which health systems to check, and where county and state lines change your options.

Medicare in Chicago

Chicago has several large academic systems, and a plan that includes one may leave out another. If you use a specialist at a particular hospital, start with that hospital.

If you moved to the suburbs, your plan options may be different from the ones you had in the city, even though your doctor has not changed.

Chicago is in Cook County, Illinois. Where you live decides which plans and prices you can get, because plan availability is set by county and ZIP code.
