Molina Is Ending Its Regular Medicare Advantage Plans for 2027
Molina Healthcare told investors it is exiting its traditional (non-dual) Medicare Advantage prescription drug plans for 2027 and keeping its plans for people who have both Medicare and Medicaid. Coverage under the ending plans runs through December 31, 2026.
What's verified so far
- Carrier: Molina Healthcare, Inc.
- What's ending: Molina's traditional Medicare Advantage prescription drug (MAPD) plans -- the ones that aren't for dual-eligible members
- What continues: Molina's plans for people with both Medicare and Medicaid (dual-eligible special needs plans)
- Members in the exiting plans: About 117,000 in 2025, which Molina projected would fall to about 80,000 in 2026 (Molina 2025 Form 10-K)
- Where Molina sells regular (non-special-needs) Medicare Advantage plans in 2026: California (Molina Medicare Choice Care and Central Health plans), Illinois (Molina Medicare Choice Care) and Connecticut (ConnectiCare plans), per CMS's 2026 plan list. Molina hasn't said plan by plan which of these end.
- Coverage end date: December 31, 2026
What's not yet known
Molina's filings describe the exit by product, not by plan, state or county. CMS's 2027 plan files (expected around October 1, 2026) and the non-renewal letters members must receive by October 2, 2026 will show exactly which plans end where; this page will be updated then. If you're in a Molina Medicare plan, your letter is the surest answer.
